Claved, 80 years of experience in the manufacture of electrical equipment

Claved was born in 1937 and filed its trademark right in the middle of the Spanish civil war.

The first logo included a «R» on the name of the company. The first products manufactured were fuse holders, pumps, and switches manufactured with Bakelite resins pressed in the premises covering 100 m2 in the heart of Barcelona.

At the end of the Spanish civil war in 1939, the company was permanently founded.

Its objective was to bring to the market a range of products for electrical installations, mainly small pieces of equipment such as such as lamp sockets, push-buttons and pins. The product range was supplemented by connection terminals and small junction and line splitting boxes.

The natural growth of the market led to the rapid growth of the company, which, in 1961, developed its facilities with the of the La Sagrera (Barcelona) factory. With a surface area of 2,000 m2, Claved expanded on the electrical distribution market by integrating a full range of splitting and protection boxes, fuse holders, insulating mounts and terminals for industrial use.

Bakelite resins were still the company’s basic raw material, which includes elements in soapstone and aluminium shearing cases.

In 1989, Claved joined the Sofisme (Seifel) Group with international ambitions by developing specific products and establishing itself in different countries.

Today, Claved, which joined the Sicame Group with Seifel on 1 April, is involved more than ever to use its 80 years of experience at the service of the developments of tomorrow.
